Office of the State Deputy Comptroller for the City of New York

The Office of the State Deputy Comptroller for the City of New York (OSDC) assists State Comptroller DiNapoli in fulfilling his obligations as the State’s Chief Fiscal Officer by monitoring the fiscal condition of New York City and the surrounding region, assisting the New York State Financial Control Board and providing technical assistance to other divisions within the State Comptroller’s Office.

OSDC issues a range of reports to assist the public in understanding issues and development in three primary areas:

  • New York City’s financial plans and major budgetary and policy issues.
  • Economic and economic development trends and issues affecting New York City and the surrounding region, including Wall Street, housing, energy.
  • Budgetary and policy issues affecting public authorities in the New York City region, including the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation.

The State Comptroller’s Office also conducts audits of New York City agencies to determine whether programs achieve their established goals and to ensure that assets are adequately protected against fraud, waste, and abuse. Click here for recent audit reports.
